Jant questions

What is Jant?

Microblog for one author with notes, links, quotes, threads and Markdown sync to GitHub. It’s an open-source, self-hosted alternative to Tumblr. It runs on Cloudflare Workers in your own account.

What does Jant set up in my Cloudflare account?

D1 database and R2 bucket. They are created in your account, so the data stays yours.

How do I deploy Jant?

It installs from the command line. Follow the steps in the jant-me/jant README.

Is Jant free and open source?

Yes. It’s published under the AGPL-3.0 licence. Running it uses your own Cloudflare account, and small setups usually fit in the free plan.

How do I update Jant?

Pull from the original repository and redeploy: add https://github.com/jant-me/jant.git as an upstream remote, run git pull upstream main, then npx wrangler deploy.
