Doota questions

What is Doota?

Email app on your own domain where every thread reads like a chat, with mail encrypted at rest. It’s an open-source, self-hosted alternative to Google Workspace. It runs on Cloudflare Workers in your own account.

What does Doota set up in my Cloudflare account?

D1 database, KV namespace, R2 bucket, Durable Objects, Queues, Cron trigger and Email. They are created in your account, so the data stays yours.

How do I deploy Doota?

It installs from the command line. Follow the steps in the etherCorps/doota README.

Is Doota free and open source?

Yes. It’s published under the Apache-2.0 licence. Running it uses your own Cloudflare account, and small setups usually fit in the free plan.

How do I update Doota?

Pull from the original repository and redeploy: add https://github.com/etherCorps/doota.git as an upstream remote, run git pull upstream main, then npx wrangler deploy.
