Garrul questions

What is Garrul?

Threaded comments for static sites and blogs, with social login, spam filtering and Disqus import. It’s an open-source, self-hosted alternative to Disqus. It runs on Cloudflare Workers in your own account.

What does Garrul set up in my Cloudflare account?

D1 database, KV namespace and Cron trigger. They are created in your account, so the data stays yours.

How do I deploy Garrul?

It installs from the command line. Follow the steps in the KingPin/Garrul README.

Is Garrul free and open source?

Yes. It’s published under the Apache-2.0 licence. Running it uses your own Cloudflare account, and small setups usually fit in the free plan.

How do I update Garrul?

Pull from the original repository and redeploy: add https://github.com/KingPin/Garrul.git as an upstream remote, run git pull upstream main, then npx wrangler deploy.
